I remember seeing this one years ago thinking it sorta resembled something Bozzetto could do himself at the time, if only style-wise, though the concerns for one dying of thirst probably wasn't in his interest just yet over his love for ecological themes. Of course after all is said and done we get our punchline in the film in the form of convenient contrivances, oh well.
